A star-studded, romantic zombie comedy that serves as a sweet and clever allegory of young love. A young man is broken when his girlfriend passes unexpectedly. Her parents try to support him through the tough times, while trying to hide the fact that their daughter is in fact back from the dead. The lovers’ reunion is touching at first, but things quickly become quite strange when he discovers his resurrected ex’s rotten secret. Somewhere between an indie drama about the trials and tribulations of being romantically involved, and a fun romantic comedy, the film gets an upgrade courtesy of the zombie genre that’s making a more self-aware comeback in recent years. Just the right dose of broken, beating and bleeding heart.
