Mike Hostench was born and to this day resides in Barcelona, has spent his childhood in South Carolina, and has lived and worked in London. His career has always been connected to the film industry, first in retail and distribution, working for companies such as Virgin and Gorgon Video, and afterwards in festivals and film production. Hostench combines nowadays his position as Deputy Director of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, with writing and producing films.His most recent projects are the creation of the PHONETASTIC SITGES MOBILE FILM FESTIVAL, an international festival for short-films shot and post-produced with mobile devices, and several other projects designed to internationalize Sitges Festival. Hostench is the artistic director of “HOLLYBRUT” a cult-film mash-up program for Paramount Channel. Hostench has written four books on Asian and horror films, and contributes to movie magazines and websites. He is also the scriptwriter of long features such as “Beneath Still Waters“(2004) and “Asmodexia”, a horror film he also contributed to produce and will be released in late 2014.
