Everyone has a shadow. When we walk at night under streetlights, moonlight or even starlight it is always there, by our side, following. Always close, sometimes on a wall, sometimes on the floor; big, small or exactly our size.
In this project the creators, Lab Crew IL (Orian Sharoni and Ronny Ziss), invite to explore and play with the shadows of passersby. Unlike ordinary shadows, they offer alternative ones.
This project makes use of a computer, webcam and a projector. The software was programmed using MatLab.
The creators are Lab Crew IL:
Ronny Ziss – In addition to his main job as a tech developer, Ronny is highly involved in artistic work and combines in his creations art and technology. His works have been exhibited in the Bloomfield Science Museum in Jerusalem, Hansen House in Jerusalem and various events such as the MidBurn (the Israeli Burning Man festival) and DLD.
Orian Sharoni – Researcher explorer and creator. During the day she carries out experiments on humans as an MA student in cognitive sciences in Tel Aviv University. During the night, she carries out experiments on humans using art and technology.
